We are pleased to have extended our partnership with Street Soccer Scotland, after agreeing additional funding for their programmes that will continue until at least December 2022.
The support of the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation has been important for the delivery of free football sessions across Edinburgh and the Lothians, with this additional backing allowing them to carry on that vital work and reach even more young people.
Street Soccer Scotland’s sessions help players develop their communication and team-work skills, allow them to build relationships with experienced coaches and fun and inclusivity is at the core of everything they do.
Running 50 weeks each year, Street Soccer Scotland sessions create a safe space and work alongside community partners to ensure each and every player benefits.
Graeme Cadger, HSF Chairman, said: “We have seen, first hand, the outstanding work being done by Street Soccer Scotland across Edinburgh and the Lothians, and we are more than happy to extend our partnership with additional funding.
“Both Paul and Lewis take a keen in interest in Street Soccer Scotland and their players’ development, and enjoy attending coaching sessions whenever they can.
“We’ve developed a strong bond with Street Soccer Scotland and look forward to collaborating with them on a few fundraising initiatives and other projects.”
Norman Gill, Street Soccer COO, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Hanlon Stevenson Foundation.
“Paul and Lewis have been supportive of our work for many years now and we have been able to build up our youth and schools work in Edinburgh with their help. The pandemic has made things even worse for young people with challenging home lives and at Street Soccer, with the help of HSF, we can provide positive role models, a safe space and, above all, fun.”
