Hanlon Stevenson Foundation are very pleased to partner L.I.F.T ( Low Income Families Together) in The Big Family Tea which will involve HSF funding up to 2500 meals throughout the winter months (October to March) as well as funding some entertainment for the families. The Big Family Tea will be served weekly at L.I.F.T Millennium Centre in Muirhouse and is designed to help mental wellbeing, peer interaction, reduce isolation, improve social skills as well as serving the families a fresh healthy meal.

Pauline Bowie, Founder and Director of L.I.F.T said “Food poverty is now a major crisis for many families and we thank HSF for agreeing to fund this project. HSF have helped us greatly over the past few years by supplying such things as Easter Eggs, Food, Cash Donations and football coaching classes for our kids on a weekly basis. This funding is massive for us and allows up to 100 people to dine with us on a weekly basis. We can’t thank them enough.”

Graeme Cadger, Chairman of HSF said “We greatly admire the work Pauline and her staff do in the Community. The challenges they face on a daily basis are dramatically increasing and it’s when you spend time with them you realise the severity. Stories such as Mothers being unable to buy sufficient food for themselves and having to eat the childrens leftovers prompted us to increase our level of support and funding.”
